Fisker Karma Hybrid

I actually saw a Fisker Karma EV hybrid at the University Village shopping area just north of Seattle. We were leaving when it drove past, and I thought it was a Maserati at first. It parked near us so I hopped out to snap a few pics.

The Karma is a rare car from the Finnish auto maker Fisker, with only 2500 having been produced in the world between 2011 and 2012 before production ceases due to financial troubles. Its one of the better looking cars that I've seen, but thats about where its' impressiveness ends. The problem is that its a mid-range sports car with hybrid tech added as an afterthought, and sold with a supercar pricetag. It has 260hp, and runs 0-60 in 6.3 seconds, but I'd expect that from a $40k sports car. They sold it starting at $100,000. Also, with all of the electric motors and batteries the Karma has the same curb weight as my F-150, 5,300 lbs. I can only imagine how much better it would perform if you just removed all of the electric junk and let it use the existing gas motor as-is.

Oh, and the roof is actually covered in solar panels too, so that's cool.
